What is Indiana Drama Club?
Our Mission is to Engage, Enrich and Encourage Students Grades 6-12th
through Theatrical Experiences.
Our ultimate goal is to be able to provide these opportunities at little to no cost for participants. We want to bridge the gap between students of different ethnic, socioeconomic and ability backgrounds. We believe a key component to accomplishing this is by removing financial barriers. As an organization we have three major programs we use to accomplish our mission.
The Club: IDC will first and foremost be a club that meets bi-weekly between the months of September and May. Our club, not unlike a school drama club, will provide opportunities for students to interact and grow in their knowledge of the theatre. In addition, our club will also be the home of Indiana Thespian Troupe 10273. Any student between 6th-12th grade who is homeschooled or attends a school without an active troupe, will have the opportunity to be inducted into the International Thespian Society via our club.
Productions: IDC will produce a full length play or musical production once a year. IDC will also produce a one-act production for submission to both the IndyFridge Festival and Thespian competition each year.
Scholarship Fund: Our scholarship program will provide financial assistance to Indiana Students wishing to participate in Indiana theatre arts programs but lack financial support and resources. (This is still a work in progress)
